Bungie has launched the quest for the Exotic Pulse Rifle “No Time to Explain”, seemingly at random.

Yesterdays patch, which increased Nightfall rewards, brought with it a new quest for those who have completed a secret quest in the daily Heroic mission, Paradox.

The object was to find three Ghosts belonging lost Guardian Praedyth, and then enter a secret portal and fight a Taken boss. After that, you received a Ghost shell which you turned into Future War Cult’s Lakshmi-2 for a few rep, and that was it.

Some, however, suspected this would eventually trigger a new quest, and they were right. Exactly like the “Sleeper Simulant”, which was also activated at an arbitrary time by Bungie, today that quest is live, and players are still working their way through it as we speak.

The quest, is called “Not Forged in Light”, and is given to you by Lakshmi-2. First she asks for you to donate to her cause (leveling up Future War Cult by 1000 points). Then, you’re tasked with killing a Taken Minotaur which drops a specific core that you need to progress. It appears any old Taken Minotaur Champion will do, including the ones that spawn in the wild (Possibly a Major Taken Minotaur works as well).

Now you’re heading to the Vault of Glass, the actual raid, not just a mission inside of it. The step is to “shatter an eye” you receive from Atheon, and so far only a few people seemed to have made it past this step yet.

After downing Atheon, there’s a pair of missions. One on Earth (Shadow at Twilight), which requires you to go alone, and you have to find a specific chest that spawns in random places. After that is a 290 light level mission on Mars(Blood of the Garden) that’s supposed to be particularly difficult (kill enemies to spawn a boss, keep killing enemies or boss disappears), and it’s the last step in the questline, according to a few who actually have their hands on No Time to Explain already.

After what happened with the Sleeper Simulant, it seems most gave up trying to find No Time to Explain because they assumed it was just locked behind another timegate, so there won’t be as much disappointment this time around since it was pretty clear this was coming. At least in this case, the Paradox mission’s secret Ghosts had to be discovered as a precursor.

So will there be any more secrets? Apparently there’s a lot of exotic armor that’s still missing…

a side note: if you just picked up the ghost from the secret part of The Paradox daily, you have to wait till estimated time of either next week, or next time Paradox is the daily to get this quest.

I mention this only because I got the ghost yesterday and have no access to this quest yet.
