Destiny 2 Dungeon Speedrun Tournament
Terms of Service (Official Rules)

No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win. Void where prohibited by law.

  1. Sponsor and Scope

Sponsor: The Destiny 2 Dungeon Speedrun Tournament (the “Competition”) is sponsored and operated by [TRN] (“Sponsor”), with its principal place of business in Kansas City, Missouri. Sponsor is solely responsible for the organization, administration, and prize fulfillment of this Competition. This Competition is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Bungie, Inc. (“Bungie”), the developer of Destiny 2. Bungie is not involved in the Competition’s operation or administration, except that Bungie’s approval will be obtained for in-game prizes (Destiny 2 Silver) before distribution. All questions, comments or concerns regarding the Competition should be directed to [TRN], not to Bungie.

  2. Eligibility

Age: The Competition is open to individuals who are at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their country/jurisdiction of residence (whichever is greater) as of the start of the Competition Period. Participants must also have a valid Bungie.net account and Destiny 2 game access (including any required dungeon content) to compete.

Ineligible Parties: Employees, officers, and directors of [TRN], its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and other partners involved in the Competition’s execution, as well as members of their immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) or households, are not eligible to participate. The Competition is void where prohibited by law or where any required governmental registration or bonding has not been obtained.

  3. Agreement to Rules

By registering for or participating in the Competition, each participant (Entrant) unconditionally agrees to comply with and abide by these Terms of Service and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Competition. Entrants must also agree to any other applicable terms and policies of Sponsor, including [TRN]’s general Terms of Use and Privacy Policy (which will be made available during registration). If you do not agree to these Terms or such policies, you may not participate. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant who violates the Terms or behaves in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.

  4. Competition Period and Schedule

The Competition will be conducted according to the following schedule in 2025 (the “Competition Period”):

    • Announcement and Registration Opening: June 27, 2025 - The Competition is officially announced and registration opens. Details on how to register are provided by Sponsor on this date.
    • Competition Weekend 1: July 4, 2025 (12:00 AM EST) - July 6, 2025 (11:59 PM EST) - During this window, Entrants may attempt eligible dungeon runs for the first weekend’s contest.
    • Competition Weekend 2: July 11, 2025 (12:00 AM EST) - July 13, 2025 (11:59 PM EST) - During this window, Entrants may attempt eligible dungeon runs for the second weekend’s contest.

All dates/times are inclusive and based on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) (or specify time zone if needed). Only runs completed during the designated weekend time frames will be considered for that weekend’s leaderboard. Sponsor reserves the right to modify the schedule (e.g. extend, delay, or cancel a Competition period) if technical issues, server outages, or other unforeseen circumstances disrupt the event (see Section 12). Entrants are responsible for being aware of the correct dates and times; no submissions outside these periods will be accepted.

  5. Registration Process

Registration Required: Entrants must register for the Competition separately for each weekend they wish to participate in. Registration will be available through an official [TRN] sign-up page or platform. During registration, Entrants will be required to provide accurate information including (at minimum) their Bungie.net Membership ID (Destiny 2 in-game identity), contact email, and selected category or categories of participation (Solo, Duo, and/or Fireteam, as defined below). Entrants must also affirmatively accept these Terms of Service (and acknowledge any related terms such as the Privacy Policy) as part of the registration process (e.g., via a checkbox or “I Agree” button).

One Entry per Weekend: Each Entrant (or team, in Duo/Fireteam categories) must complete the registration for a given weekend prior to the start of that weekend’s Competition Period. Registration deadlines may close shortly before or at the start of each Competition Weekend - late registrations will not be accepted. There is no fee to register or participate. An Entrant can register for one or both Competition Weekends, but must do so separately.

Team Registrations: For Duo and Fireteam categories, a designated team captain (or each member) may be required to register and list their teammates. All team members must meet eligibility requirements. Teams must consist of the correct number of distinct players (exactly 2 for Duo, 3 for Fireteam). The same individual may participate in multiple categories (for example, an Entrant can compete in Solo on their own and also as part of a Duo or Fireteam), but separate valid runs are required for each category’s leaderboard.

  6. Competition Format and Categories

Dungeon Speedrun Objective: The Competition is a skill-based tournament centered on completing a specified Destiny 2 dungeon in the fastest possible time. Each Entrant or team will attempt to finish the dungeon as quickly as they can. Runs will be timed from the start to the completion of the dungeon (as recorded by the game or as otherwise specified by Sponsor). Sponsor will announce in advance which dungeon or dungeons are eligible for the Competition (e.g., a specific rotating dungeon each weekend, if applicable). Only the designated dungeon and mode will count for this Competition.

Leaderboard: A player who registers will appear independently on the leaderboard of the competition, even if they play as a Duo or Fireteam during their run. Identical scores will appear together in the same position on the leaderboard and will be eligible for the prize.

Multiple Attempts: Entrants can attempt the dungeon as many times as they wish during the Competition Period. There is no limit to the number of runs. Only the fastest valid completion time achieved by an Entrant/team in each category will be considered for the leaderboard. Entrants are encouraged to improve their times throughout the weekend.

Ties (Equal Times): If two or more Entrants/teams achieve identical completion times in the same category, they will receive the same leaderboard ranking (a tie). Equal rankings are allowed - no tiebreaker will be applied for identical times. In the event of a tie for a prize-winning position, all tied Entrants/teams will be deemed to hold that placement and will be eligible for the corresponding prize (see Section 8 for prize distribution in tie scenarios). For example, if two Solo players tie for the fastest time, both will be recognized as 1st Place Solo winners; the next fastest time would be ranked as 2nd place.

The Competition is skill-based: winners are determined solely by timing performance and adherence to these rules, not by chance. All Entrants must play fairly and without cheating (see Code of Conduct).

  7. Leaderboard and Winner Determination

Leaderboard Updates: Sponsor will maintain a public leaderboard (e.g., on the [TRN] website or event page) displaying the top completion times during each Competition Weekend. The leaderboard may be updated in real-time or periodically as new run times are verified. All Entrants by participating agree that their Bungie ID (player name) and completion times may be publicly displayed on the leaderboard.

Timing and Verification: The official time for a run will be determined by Sponsor using reliable data (such as the in-game timer displayed upon dungeon completion, or an internal timing system). Sponsor reserves the right to verify any submitted or recorded run time for legitimacy. This may include requiring the Entrant/team to provide proof of their run, such as a video capture of the end-of-dungeon completion time, in addition to cross-checking against Bungie’s game data. Times that cannot be verified to Sponsor’s satisfaction, or that appear to result from cheating, exploits, or glitches, will be disqualified and removed from the leaderboard. Sponsor’s determination of official times and rankings is final.

Winner Determination: At the end of each Competition Weekend, the final leaderboard rankings will determine the winners for that weekend. The Entrants/teams holding the top ranks will be deemed the prize winners for that weekend (subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Terms). In total, for each weekend there will be up to nine (9) winning entries. All Sponsor decisions regarding timing, ranking, and winners are final and binding.

  8. Prizes

Prize Description: Prizes consist of Destiny 2 “Silver” packages (in-game currency), including bonus Silver, to be awarded to the top performers in each category. Each Competition Weekend offers prizes for the top 9 places as detailed below. The Silver packages correspond to official Destiny 2 Silver bundles (with bonus amounts) and are subject to Bungie’s approval. Prizes will be delivered in the form of digital codes or direct account credit for the specified amount of Silver.

    • First Place: 10,000 (+2,000 Bonus) Silver Package.
    • Second Place: 5,000 (+1,000 Bonus) Silver Package.
    • Third Place: 3,000 (+500 Bonus) Silver Package.
    • Fourth Place: 2,000 (+300 Bonus) Silver Package.
    • Fifth Place: 1,500 (+200 Bonus) Silver Package.
    • Sixth Place: 1,000 (+100 Bonus) Silver Package.
    • Seven - Nine: 500 Silver Package.

(Exact Silver quantities and bundle details for each placement will be confirmed by Sponsor at or before the start of the Competition; for example, a possible breakdown might be First Place: 10,000 Silver + bonus, Second Place: 5,000 Silver + bonus, Third Place: 2,300 Silver + bonus, per winner.)

When participating in the activity runs as part of a Duo or fireteam, your recorded time will be subject to team-based evaluation rules. Specifically, the final time recorded for the fireteam will be the slowest individual time among its members. This time will be used for leaderboard placement. Individual members will not receive separate placements for the same run; the entire fireteam is scored and placed based on the slowest participant's performance.

Individual who participated in a Duo or Fireteam run and weren’t registered before their best run of the weekend, and they registered after the fact, will appear on the leaderboard with their best attempt.

Raffle: A raffle draw will be conducted by the Sponsor within the boundaries outlined in Section 9. Raffle winners will be publicly announced on the Sponsor’s official channels.
By participating in any of the weekends, you become eligible to win one of the following prizes:

    • (9) Exclusive Starhorse-inspired headphone holders fabricated by Hench and Scrap.
    • (1) Premium Rite of the Nine-themed PC unit created by Overkill

Each eligible participant receives one (1) raffle entry. Entries are non-transferable and have no cash value. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

Bungie Approval: All prizes involving Destiny 2 in-game content are subject to Bungie’s final approval. Sponsor will coordinate with Bungie to ensure prize distribution complies with Bungie’s policies (including Destiny 2 Competition License terms). If Bungie does not approve a specific prize or its distribution, Sponsor may modify the prize or award a substitute of comparable value (such as multiple smaller Silver codes totaling the value).

Tax and Costs: Winners are responsible for any and all taxes, fees, or other charges (if any) associated with the receipt or use of a prize. However, since prizes are virtual in-game items, no significant tax liability is anticipated for most winners. Any other costs associated with claiming or using the prize (such as internet service or Destiny 2 game expansion access) are the sole responsibility of the winner.

  9. Winner Notification and Verification

Notification: Potential winners will be notified by Sponsor within a reasonable time after the end of each Competition Weekend. Sponsor will use the contact information provided during registration to reach winners (such as the TRN account email address). Sponsor may also announce the winners publicly (e.g., on the [TRN] website or social media) after initial contact. It is each Entrant’s responsibility to provide a valid and active email and to check their messages. Sponsor is not liable if a winner notification is lost, filtered (e.g., into spam), or not received by the potential winner for any reason outside Sponsor’s control (e.g., incorrect contact info).

Bungie ID Submission: As part of winner verification and prize fulfillment, each potential winner must provide their Bungie Membership ID (the unique identifier for their Destiny account, including the numeric ID and platform identifier if applicable) to Sponsor. This information is required to verify the Entrant’s identity and eligibility, and to ensure the correct Destiny 2 account is credited with the Silver prize. Sponsor may already have this ID from registration, but Sponsor may ask to re-confirm it or provide additional proof that the Bungie ID is owned by the winner (such as requiring the winner to send a message or friend request from that account).

Verification and Compliance: Sponsor may, at its discretion, require a potential winner to complete additional verification steps. This can include signing an affidavit of eligibility, a liability/publicity release, and/or providing proof of age or identity (for example, government ID) to ensure compliance with these Terms. For team winners, each member of the team may be required to verify eligibility. If a potential winner (or any team member, in the case of a team entry) cannot be contacted, fails to respond within 7 days of the initial notification, fails to provide the required Bungie ID or verification information, or is found to be ineligible or in violation of these Terms, that winner may be disqualified. In such case, the Sponsor reserves the right to forfeit the prize or, at Sponsor’s discretion, award the prize to the next eligible Entrant/team on the leaderboard (e.g., the 4th place in that category, assuming they have a qualifying time).

Prize Delivery: Upon verification, winners will receive their Silver prize. Delivery will typically be via a digital code sent to the winner’s email or directly credited to the winner’s Bungie account (details will be provided in the winner notification). Sponsor will coordinate with winners on the method. Prizes requiring Bungie’s involvement (such as account credit) may take additional time to fulfill; winners must cooperate with any instructions to redeem their Silver. Sponsor will make reasonable efforts to ensure prizes are delivered within 30 days of winner verification. Any unclaimed prizes or those forfeited due to disqualification may not be awarded, as decided by Sponsor.

  10. Content License and Usage Rights

Participant Content: By taking part in the Competition, Entrants may generate or submit content related to their participation, such as gameplay videos, livestreams, screenshots, statistics, team or player names (including Bungie IDs), and other materials (“Competition Content”). Ownership: Entrants retain ownership of their individual intellectual property rights (if any) in the content they create. However, by participating and/or submitting any Competition Content, Entrant grants Sponsor and its affiliates a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, translate, display, distribute, and otherwise utilize such content, in any and all media (now known or later developed), for purposes of operating, promoting, and documenting the Competition or similar future events. This includes, for example, the right for Sponsor to:

    • Display your in-game name (Bungie ID), team name, and avatar on Competition leaderboards or winner announcements.
    • Use screenshots or video clips of your gameplay attempts (whether submitted by you or captured by Sponsor during an official stream) in highlight reels, promotional materials, social media posts, or recap articles about the Competition.
    • Refer to and incorporate your performance (e.g., completion time, rank, prize won) in press releases or marketing.

Entrants acknowledge that this license allows [TRN] to use their Competition Content and identity for publicity and promotional purposes without any further consent, notice, or compensation, unless prohibited by law. Winners in particular agree to participate in reasonable publicity activities related to the Competition, as determined by Sponsor (such as interviews or testimonials), and allow Sponsor to use their name/alias and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes.

Representations: By submitting or allowing use of any content, Entrants represent and warrant that they have all necessary rights to grant the above license, and that the content does not infringe or violate any third-party rights (including Bungie’s terms or any other player’s rights). Entrants will not submit any content that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable. Sponsor is not obligated to use any particular content and may remove or omit any content that it deems inappropriate or in violation of the above obligations.

  11. Code of Conduct

All Entrants are expected to uphold the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship throughout the Competition. By entering, you agree to the following rules of conduct:

    • No Cheating or Exploits: Cheating is strictly prohibited. Entrants may not use any hacks, mods, bots, scripts, or unauthorized third-party software that alters gameplay or provides an unfair advantage. Exploiting game bugs or glitches to improve time is also forbidden. All runs must be completed using only official Destiny 2 game clients and within the game’s intended mechanics. If an exploit or glitch is discovered, Entrants should avoid using it and may report it to Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any run or Entrant suspected of cheating or exploiting, and to ban such Entrant from this and future competitions.
    • No Account Sharing or Piloting: The individual(s) registered for the Competition must be the ones playing. Entrants cannot have another person play on their account or assist beyond the allowed team members in Duo/Fireteam. Each player on a team must personally participate in the run.
    • No Unsportsmanlike Behavior: Entrants must refrain from toxic or abusive behavior towards other participants, Sponsor staff, or the community. Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, extreme profanity, or threats of violence will not be tolerated. This applies to in-game communications, as well as any chat or social media associated with the Competition.
    • No Sabotage or Interference: Entrants shall not attempt to sabotage others’ attempts or the Competition’s operations. This includes behaviors like stream sniping with malicious intent, deliberate interference in others’ in-game activities (outside normal gameplay competition), or any attempt to disrupt the servers, website, or leaderboard systems (e.g. DDoS attacks, tampering with APIs).
    • Compliance with Game Terms: All participants must abide by Bungie’s Terms of Service, Code of Conduct, and all Destiny 2 game rules. Any participant who is banned or restricted by Bungie for misconduct (such as cheating) during the Competition will be deemed ineligible and disqualified from the event. Similarly, any violation of [TRN]’s platform rules (if the Competition uses [TRN] services) can result in disqualification.

Enforcement: Sponsor may monitor participant behavior during the Competition. Allegations of cheating or misconduct will be investigated to the best of Sponsor’s ability. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual or team found (or reasonably suspected) to be tampering with the entry process or gameplay, violating these Terms, or acting in an unsportsmanlike, disruptive, or unethical manner. Disqualification can occur during the Competition or even after its conclusion if post-event review finds evidence of misconduct. In cases of disqualification, Sponsor may remove the Entrant’s times from the leaderboard, revoke prizes (if already awarded), and/or ban the offending player(s) from future competitions. All determinations of violations and penalties are at the sole discretion of Sponsor and are final.

  12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Assumption of Risk: By participating in the Competition, Entrants understand and agree that engaging in online gameplay and the Competition is at their own risk. Sponsor does not guarantee continuous, error-free, or secure access to the Competition or game servers, and is not responsible for any disruption to an Entrant’s attempts or performance.

Technical Issues: Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions of any network, servers, equipment, or software, or for any failure of any registration or submission to be received due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or on any website/platform. This includes, but is not limited to, issues with Destiny 2’s game servers, bugs or glitches in the game, interruptions in the Bungie API or data feeds, power outages, hardware or software failures on the Entrant’s side, or delays/failures in electronic communications. Sponsor will not be liable for any loss of progress or attempt (e.g. a promising speedrun that fails to register a completion due to a server error). If a widespread technical issue occurs (such as Destiny 2 servers going down) that significantly impacts the Competition, Sponsor may adjust the schedule or take other remedial actions (see “Force Majeure” below).

Unauthorized Intervention: Sponsor is not responsible for any fraud, sabotage, unauthorized human intervention, or other causes outside its control that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Competition. This includes any hacking, tampering, or attempts to manipulate the leaderboard or results. Any person attempting to undermine the operation of the Competition may be subject to disqualification and may be in violation of criminal and civil laws. Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law from any such person.

Errors and Omissions: Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or factual errors in communications about the Competition, including print, website, or social media announcements. In the event that an error occurs (for example, in the announced dates, rules, or prize descriptions), Sponsor reserves the right to correct such error and clarify the rules, provided that doing so does not materially unfairly disadvantage Entrants. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Terms in a particular instance does not constitute a waiver of that term.

Force Majeure - Right to Cancel/Modify: If, for any reason, the Competition cannot be conducted as planned due to causes beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control (such as acts of God, war, natural disasters, epidemic, network outages, game developer actions, or any law or regulation that affects the Competition), Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Competition (in whole or in part). If the Competition is terminated early, Sponsor may, at its discretion, determine winners from among all valid and non-suspect results achieved up to the time of the event’s disruption, or by other fair and appropriate means. Sponsor may also reschedule the Competition Period or any part of it, if feasible. Any changes to the Competition will be communicated by Sponsor in a timely manner.

Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Entrants agree that Sponsor, Bungie, and each of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) shall not be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in the Competition or the acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize. This includes, without limitation:

    • Personal Injuries or Property Damage: Any injuries, death, or property damage sustained by Entrant or any third party due to participation in the Competition (for example, from extended screen time, stress, or physical exertion) or while using any prize. Entrants participate with the understanding that gaming involves repetitive motion and exposure to screens, and they should take appropriate breaks and precautions.
    • Indirect or Consequential Damages: Any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages (including lost data, lost business, lost profits, or loss of opportunity) arising out of the Competition or prizes, even if foreseeable or even if the Released Parties have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Entrant specifically waives the right to claim any damages other than direct out-of-pocket expenses (if any).
    • Claims of Third Parties: Any claims based on publicity rights, defamation, or invasion of privacy related to participation in the Competition (except to the extent prohibited by law or covered by Sponsor’s obligations in these Terms). Entrants grant the publicity rights as described in Section 10 and understand that their participation and content may be made public.

By entering, each Entrant releases and holds harmless the Released Parties from any and all claims, liabilities, or causes of action arising out of participation in the Competition or receipt/use of any prize. Entrants covenant not to sue the Released Parties for any such claims. Nothing in these Terms shall limit liability for death or personal injury caused by a Released Party’s gross negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law; however, by participating, Entrants understand that to the extent permitted by law, they are waiving rights to seek damages that are indirect or punitive in nature.

  13. Governing Law and Disputes

Governing Law: These Terms and the Competition are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. The Competition is intended to comply with all applicable laws and regulations; to the extent there is any conflict between these rules and mandatory provisions of law, the law will prevail.

Dispute Resolution: As a condition of participating in this Competition, Entrants agree that any disputes or claims arising out of or relating to the Competition or these Terms shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the competent courts located in Israel (unless another jurisdiction is required by law). Entrants expressly waive any right to a trial by jury in any such action, if applicable. Furthermore, to the extent permitted by law, Entrants waive the right to seek or recover punitive, exemplary, multiplied, or consequential damages from the Released Parties. Entrant’s recovery in any claim is limited to their actual out-of-pocket costs (if any) associated with entering the Competition (and in no event attorneys’ fees).

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable from the Terms and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions, which will remain in effect.

  14. Contact Information

If you have any questions or concerns about the Competition or these Terms of Service, or if you need to communicate with the Sponsor, please contact [TRN] at [[email protected]] or through the official support channels listed on [TRN]’s website. All requests or inquiries will be handled in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy and within a reasonable timeframe.

Winner List: A list of winners (gamertags/Bungie IDs and their placements) will be available on the official leaderboard and may be announced via [TRN]’s website or social media after each Competition Weekend. You may also request a winners list by contacting Sponsor as described above, within 30 days of the Competition’s end.

2025 [TRN]. All rights reserved. Destiny 2 and Bungie’s trademarks are property of Bungie, Inc., which is not a sponsor of or responsible for this Competition. By participating, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service. Good luck and have fun speedrunning!
