Going in! Destiny 2 has players everywhere chomping at the bit to play through the next installment in the franchise. Before we all confirm our vacation and sicks days, there's a few things Guardians can learn to prepare themselves for the next chapter. Starting it up
- Guardians character looks from D1 can be brought to D2 but no rewards gained can be brought with them.
- Veteran players on consoles will get exclusive Emblem rewards from specific accomplishments done in D1
- Veteran rewards cannot transfer from consoles to PC
- players on PC will not get any veteran acknowledgements
- Character Creator has been updated with more features to create your unique Guardian appearance.
- Beards and Facial hair have been confirmed to not be coming to D2
- D1 players and new players will get different audio cues. Each will get their own context. Veterans get an homage based on your D1 accomplishments while new players get the feeling that they are new.

- Light level is now called "Power" cap not confirmed yet
- Vault size has been confirmed at 200 (YES)
- Collections tabs return for Vaults like in D1
- Milestone tab located in the Director
- New Map System replaces the D1 Director
- Three weapons slots, Kinetic, Energy, and Power replacing Primary, Secondary, Heavy
- Utility items have 50 slot max
- Standard health bars return same as in D1
- All three classes return (warlock,titan, and hunter)
- New NPC's
- All three Factions return from D1 (Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, and Future War Cult)
- New Social spaces in D2 (the Farm) replacing the Tower confirmed holding 26 Guardians in the space at a time
- New vehicles, emotes, shaders
- Auras, gained from challenging activities- gives visual affects to your character. (similar to Chroma)
Lock and Load!
- Weapons have Intrinsic Perks and Locked Weapon Rolls
- Three weapons ammo types Kinetic, Energy, and Power
- Yellow Bar enemies drop Power ammo and can be farmed
- Weapon foundries Hakke/Omolon return
- New weapon foundry confirmed
- Weapons have a glowing affect when some perks are active
- Kinetic weapons do more precision damage than energy weapons
- Energy weapons take down elemental shields quicker than Kinetic in PVP can take a Guardian down quicker in Super than Kinetic
- Power weapons are potential one hit kills
- Power weapons have a glowing indicator when wielded by an opposing guardian similar to sniper glint in D1
- Power ammo is retrieved from specific locations on the map for only the one guardian who picked it up
- Armor grants defensive power
- Intellect, Discipline, and Strength have been removed
- Defense, Agility, and Recovery are now tied to your armor
- Armor Artifacts are not returning
Infusion is back for legendaries
Rocking the Rep
Faction Packages are now Engram Rewards
- Each planet will have their own new faction vendor
- Redeemable Tokens for each planet gives reputation for the planet's faction vendor
- Each planet will have their own planetary material that will increase rep
- Dusklight Crystal/Shard is a material picked up from around the EDZ map similar to D1 planetary materials and increases faction reputation with EDZ
- Microphasic Datalattice is a material picked up from around the Nessus map similar to D1 planetary materials and increases faction reputation with Nessus
- Legendary Shards Note: Replaces D1 Legendary Marks
Gunsmith Materials Note: Replaces D1 Weapon Parts

Glimmer returning, used for almost everything. Cap unconfirmed
- Bright Engrams used for purchasing coveted items from Tess Everis for customizing your character, gained by leveling and filling up your xp gauge after level 20
- Prestigious Engrams used for acquiring prestigious gear. Gained by completing Flash Points
- Exotic Engrams used for gaining Exotic weapons and or armor, has not changed
- Legendary Engrams (purple) has not changed and can be Infused
- Decoherent Engram (Blue) has not changed
- Encrypted Engram (Green) has not changed
- Encoded Engram (White) has not changed
- Guided Games Tickets used for Raid Matchmaking for Normal Raids Only. Gained by completing strikes
Nightfall Passes used for Nightfall Matchmaking for Normal Mode Only

Guided Games is a Matchmaking system for solo players and clans who need each other for raids/nightfalls
Guided Games will have an Oath, This oath is a reputation system for Seekers and Guides to be fair to each other known as Oathkeeper Scoring

All 4v4 Pvp
- Maps include Javelin-4, Midtown, Vostok, Altar of Flame, Endless Vale, Retribution PS4 Only
- Modes: Survival, Countdown, Control, Trials, Supremacy
- All engagements are designed to last longer and ability cooldowns will take longer
- Assists count as kills in D2
- Only one person needs to capture a zone, there is no increase in speed with extra players
- Neutralizing a zone no longer exists in control
- When someone is super charged, their Square in the top bar of your HUD will turn Gold
- When someone's super is active, their Square in the top bar of your HUD will be Gold and pulsing
- Players in a roaming super will leave glowing footprints to show where they have been
All for One and One for All
- All D1 Clans can migrate to D2
- Rosters, Custom Banners, Guided Gamers, and Rewards
- If your clan mates complete an activity and you do not, you still may receive a reward. (most likely related to the milestones for daily/weekly)
As your clan levels up, your banner unlocks new clan perks each season
-Clan perks:gain additional glimmer when looting engrams
- Increase public event rewards
- Improves rewards from eliminating Cabal enemies
- Increases the chance of receiving reputation tokens when completing Nightfalls, Raids, Trials
- Increases chance of receiving an engram when completing playlist activities **with a clan member
Recently it was confirmed grimoire lore will be in D2 in the flavor texts of Raid gear, weapons, armor, and in scannable objects. More information is on the rise as we prepare to take on the next challenges and new enemies. Waiting to be shown, why were called guardians.
