Trials of the Nine Returns!
Trials return this weekend with Countdown on the map Eternity. Countdown is one of the new competitive game modes in Destiny 2. In this mode, two teams alternate sides between attack and defend over placed "Charges" in two points of the map. "Attack" have the opportunity to set a Charge and begin a countdown or eliminate the enemy team to win. "Defense" must stop the Charge, if activated, at all costs. Even if the enemy team is all eliminated the Charges must be deactivated. The first team to six rounds wins the match. If your team gets seven wins with no losses you will acquire a flawless card and can then ascend the Spire.
- 4v4
- Locked-Loadouts
- Attack team can set Charges or eliminate enemy team
- Defense must protect Charges or eliminate other team before a Charge is set
- First team to 6 rounds wins
Eternity
Eternity is a competitive map in Destiny 2, which debuted in Trails of the Nine last weekend. This map is in the playlist rotation of competitive Cruciblegame mode. Eternity can be played to familiarize the maps' lay-out and gain an edge before stepping into a Trials match. There are two Charge points on the map to take notice of, whether you are Attack or Defense. Use the surrounding structures for cover, as well as quick picks and flank plays. Scout rifles and Pulse rifles will dominate in the long lanes around the map. A good mid to close range secondary will be beneficial in close quarter encounters. Stay close to the sides and use the structures to make yourself and your team harder to hit. Power ammo spawns in two places on the map and can turn a match quickly. It's important to keep an eye on these points as Power ammo comes available. Team work is key in this objective based game mode. Team shots will shutdown an enemy team almost every time. Have a good strategy going into the match and you will come out victorious over your foes.
