Community Artist Spotlight : Auraee_ii
Greetings Guardians! Our community has many talented and skilled Guardians in it, some of those Guardians are artists. Each week we will showcase some works of art created by one of our very talented artists in the Destiny community. This week, our spotlight goes out to a Guardian that has been playing Destiny since it first released day one, who in the beginning was a Hunter class Guardian and after the Taken King expansion took root as a Titan class Guardian. Auraeeii work has been seen all over the Destiny community in various social media channels as well as others. She began creating art as a child like most, enjoying the experience as a child discovering your own creativity. "*I started creating art since I was a kid but progressed more when I started involving myself in multiple RPG online communities. This was during my early high school days of good ol traditional pencil and paper skills. Trust me, you don’t want to see what it looked like back then. Traditional only went so far till roughly about 9-10 years ago, someone introduced me the magic of Photoshop. There goes my good sleep routines. I was all mouse and keyboard - scanning in pencil work then using the pen tool to lineart and color like a mad person. Never knew the existence of a drawing tablet till I got one 7 years ago I think. art... Was about September-October 2016*". Auraeeii has a talent for creating beautiful art, gaining a following of fans who look forward to everything she creates as she does it including having a community favorite with her mini Guardian pieces. Asking Auraeeii who in the community inspired her to create Destiny fan art she replied " *Honestly it was the community itself. It started as a fun lil drabble work between my friends and I, till I posted it on Twitter and Tumblr. That pic went around like wild fire and i was totally oblivious to it till someone told me about it. I never realized how many people loved small jokes like those and requested more of the little guys. So I started doing more and more of the mini guardians. Opened up to doing free requests for people to love and ideas they had suggested. Im grateful for the community to be so welcoming, open and quite friendly. Interacting with others have inspired me so much that I wish I had the time to keep up with*!. Auraeeii has found a home with in the Destiny community like so many others have, with its uniqueness unlike any other gaming community. The Destiny community has always supported all Guardians within it, being there for each other like a family with its inspiring togetherness that motivates those within its welcoming arms with confidence and moral support to achieve new goals for all Guardians. Auraee_ii choose of medium for creating her amazing art pieces is working almost exclusively in digital form, adding " Not only its vibrant, flashy, and blinding, it’s just a lot easier and quicker with the use of hot keys. I have such low tolerance flipping a pencil for draw/erase use. One single button to switch is the way to go!.
With her incredible talent for creating her unique pieces in digital form, I asked Auraeeii in the future what form or style of art would she like to try?, she replied with saying " *I’m tempted to try going back into traditional but using copics and markers. I’ve never once used them so it’ll definitely be a new experience and plenty of crying over accidental wrecked works. On the digital side, I would want to try a mix of sketch and rough color blocking… Almost like concepting before full render."* Auraeeii not only is a member of the Destiny community she is also a member of the DCA (Destiny Community Artists) along with many many amazing and talented artists in the community. Working together with other artists, supporting each other and motivating each other to better their own art as well as try new styles and forms to expand on ones creativity. I asked Auraeeii what was her favorite part about being a member of the DCA, her reply was filled with excitement and positive energy you could feel the joy coming her reply, saying "*Where to begin… I absolutely love how the Destiny Community is so closely knit, supportive and open towards each other. Though my favorite part about it is meeting fellow guardians, getting to know them and their passion. Then forming up to conquer & obliterate every activity there is, only to cry in laughter and fails. Another one of my favorites is interacting with other artists by communicating under the common language, art. Creating little sketches, collaborating, or just for shitz n giggles*". Auraeeii genuinely has a big heart and is an imaginative artist, our community is fortunate to have such a Guardian in it that brings positivity and incredible art each day. Her mini Guardian pieces she creates are incredibly done with her perfect lines coupled with her stunning ability with shading and adding color bring each mini Guardian to life,strong text she truly is a talented artist that leaves everyone excited to see what she creates next. While she is working on her art pieces i asked what sort of music if any does she listen to while working or whos stream does she tune into while working to which her reply made her even more amazing, saying " I mostly like to listen to a bunch of OSTs from games, movies and animes. My personal favorite are the Final Fantasy soundtracks". If you would like to watch Auraeeii create her pieces she streams on her Twitch channel " *mainly stream during the night, weekdays between 8pm to 12am MST. Sometimes Saturdays between 10am to 12am MST. It just really depends if I have something ready to go and isn't a surprise gift. There’s always announcement posts previews on Twitter when I'm streaming*". It was truly a treat getting to know alittle more about Auraeeii as she continues to grow in the community as she creates more art pieces for everyone to enjoy. She honestly is an amazing artist as well as Guardian, were all fortunate to have her in our community. As she makes it better with each new piece she creates, as well supporting other artists in the community and with engaging with others in casual conversations around the community she is a true joy to have in the community. Lastly asking Auraeeii a light-hearted humorous question I asked her who was the shortest and the tallest member in the DCA, throwing her off with the odd question she replied " Ahhh I wouldn’t even know! I had to randomly ask that out in the Discord chat lol. So far Ruei is the shortest while Feathernova and Avgjoe227 are the tallest".
