Community Content Creator : Brillark

The Destiny community is full of talented Guardians. The Content Creators are a huge part of the community and put so much time and effort into bringing something special to the community. DTR (destiny tracker) wants to shine a spotlight on some of the content creators in the community to recognize them for all the hard work they do, day in and day out, on stream and in the community. This week our Spotlight goes out to Guardian that has been playing Destiny since it first released back in 2014, and has since fallen in love with the game and community that was created from it. Our community has many different sides to it, the Artists, the Lore Minds, the PvE, and the PvP players. Brillark has been helping Guardians with one of the toughest most competitive game modes in Destiny, Trials. Since Trials of Osiris first dropped back during the House of Wolves DLC in Destiny 1, Brillark has been taking his unique skills for Destiny PvP and his incredible positivity and willingness to help others reach the infamous Lighthouse of D1 for the first time. Asking Brillark who inspired him to begin streaming at the beginning he replied saying "I didn't even know about Twitch until I seen people advertise themselves through LFG promoting their Twitch channels. After browsing the Destiny directory I came across Triplewreck, he's the one who inspired me to start streaming. I started streaming shortly after House of Wolves came out because of Trials, loved helping people reach the Lighthouse for the first time. However back then my streams were very inconsistent. I Didn't really create a "stream schedule" until Rise of Iron came out. Working full-time, going to school, hanging out with the wife and finding time to stream gets extremely tough, but worth it!". Also with a unique name like he has I couldn't resist asking where his name came from, Brillark replied " I came up with the name Brillark because I was trying to be unique. So I mashed my first, middle and last name and got Brillark! haha"

Enjoying all sides of Destiny Brillark enjoys taking part in doing Raids during the week and helping others with completing other challenging activities in Destiny, having fun the whole time, enjoying laughs and always keeping a positive atmosphere that everyone enjoys. Still considering himself a small streamer, the community he has created continues to grow with Guardians coming to enjoy his upbeat fun loving streams and how he interacts with everyone making everyone feel welcome and appreciates each person that comes to watch. Brillark added " I still for sure consider myself a small streamer. I got lucky that the community I have chooses to be positive. Hopefully I have something to do with that! But something I like to think about my community is that we're a bunch of friends just hanging out in the living room playing games. This mind set has helped me make some really cool friendships". Interacting with his community daily in his own Discord server and during streams its obvious to see all the friendships Brillark has made and the level of excitement he has chatting with everyone that he is a genuinely nice guy that is passionate about the community he has created inside the Destiny Community itself. The name of his community has a humor to it, referring to what many of the community see Trials as being "sweaty" Brillark likes to keep things fun and plays off this reference to assist in adding humor to it. Brillark had this to say about where the name of his community came from " Well I technically don't have a legit name for the group, I tend to bounce around a lot with random funny names. But I seem to always go back to calling it the Salty Sweatband Squad or Sweatband Fam! By the way, I have several actual sweatbands on my pc desk for when games get sweaty. Mostly to poke fun at taking games too seriously haha. But I got to say, something about putting on a sweatband in PvP makes you play instantly better!". Brillark is a gem in the community with taking the highly competitive game mode of Trials and making it a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone, that everyone can enjoy not just the elites in the community. Asking Brillark what is his favorite part of the community? he replied "Besides the obvious answer of Trials, my other favorite part of Destiny has to be the social aspect of the game. It brings people together like nothing I've ever seen, and the positivity that comes along with it is what drives me more in wanting to make an impact in the community!". enter image description here With first beginning to stream on Twitch back during the House of Wolves DLC. Asking what advice he would give to a member of the community with an interest in starting to stream, Brillark said " I get a lot of people asking what to do to start streaming, like what parts do they need to buy, how do I get graphics like yours, etc. My biggest thing I always say is to just stream with whatever you have. If it's streaming from your console without a webcam then so be it. Just be consistent, talk to your chat even if your chat is not moving and be yourself. Don't expect anything when it comes to streaming. That last part has helped me a ton." Brillark is an amazing member of the Destiny community, promoting positivity and a willingness to help anyone in the community with assisting others tackle some of the hardest content in the game that would other wise be out of reach for them. With the Lighthouse in Destiny 1 being a final destination for so many in the community. Brillark made it possible for them to see it just for the pleasure of helping others while making it a fun time for everyone. Taking away the anxiety of the hardcore game mode and seeing the reaction of so many when they finally were able to see the Lighthouse in person. He has carried that joyful and positivity to Destiny 2 with helping others reach the Trials of the Nine Spire and as well as helping members of the Destiny community with teaching and helping others with the Leviathan Raid in D2. Asking Brillark what his favorite part of helping others in Destiny is and what he misses most about Destiny 1 he replied " Helping people go flawless especially if they've never been, it's such a satisfying feeling. Back in Destiny one, my go to was sniping with The Last Word. That combo has helped a lot of people get to the Lighthouse. I have to say I miss it! As of Destiny 2, it's still nice helping people but oh do I miss sniping in Destiny, we need a comeback of the sniper!". Lastly Asking Brillark what his most memorable moment in Destiny has been he replied smiling "I have so many favorite memories of Destiny, mostly in the first Destiny. Obtaining weapons like Gjallahorn or The Last Word, but probably my most favorite is when I helped a couple people get to the Ligthouse just before Trials ended officially in Destiny one, they both have been trying to get flawless ever since Trials released in House of Wolves. They found my stream and we eventually got to the Lighthouse. I won't ever forget it! As far as a community favorite moment, hands down has to be when the Destiny community broke one million in donations for St. Jude for Guardian Con, seeing that happened was amazing!". *"Of course my wife Kristin, she's crazy supportive, always telling me to have a good stream and pushes me to keep streaming because she knows how much I enjoy it. And if my community ever does read this. I want to say I am BEYOND grateful for everyone's support and joining me on this crazy journey. My mods, followers, viewers and lurkers...you're all amazing! Looking forward to the future" - Brian.
