After the interesting week that was dominated by the Prometheus Lens, Destiny 2 seems to have returned to normal. With The Dawning now active in the game, the game continues it's evolution. As of today, there are a few changes in the weapons usage that suggest that the overall meta seems to be stabilizing.

Prometheus Lens usage dropped 97% since the update going from the most used weapon a week ago to 26th overall in PvP. Of course this is coinciding with the update. Right now Bungie is planning on holding on a proper adjustment to the weapon until after the new year. Until then, the weapon is effectively not useful in PvP as it was previously.

The weapons that have been a main focus are the Auto Rifles. Overall PvP rankings place the weapon class in three out of the five main spots, and two out of the five in Trials ranking as well. Currently two weapons hold spots on both those lists. Those weapons are Uriel's Gift and the new Curse of Osiris weapon Positive Outlook. Both have the same archetype carrying 450 RPM, the weapons have proved very useful for players as they clamor for stability and range, something both these weapons have.

As the reset has already happened, there will be some more time for us to become accustomed to the changes upcoming. Right now though, DTR will continue to monitor all usage for weapons in the game and continue to report on interesting findings.
