The Destiny community is full of talented Guardians. The Content Creators are a huge part of the community and put so much time and effort into bringing something special to the community. DTR (Destiny Tracker) wants to shine a spotlight on some of the content creators in the community to recognize them for all the hard work they do, day in and day out, on stream and in the community. This week our Spotlight goes out to a pair of Guardians that both have been playing Destiny since the Beta. While one mains a Hunter class Guardians with a love for sticking a knife throw, the other plays all three classes of Guardian but has a love for his Defender/Sentinel Titan. Buster knuckle and DeSRaven have each been members of the DRPfam (Destiny Reset Podcast family) since the first year of Destiny. Meeting there they grew a friendship that grew into something truly special. DeSRaven had this to say about how the RNGCast podcast came to be " Some time before I'd always wanted a way to talk about my opinions on the gaming community, I had a series of videos that talked about weapons to keep between House of Wolves and The Taken King, which would spawn the spreadsheet that I do, but I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do really. The RNG cast started basically because of the great Omnigul farm. I spent a lot of time farming that with Buster and the Businessman we were in the DRP family then. Around then Buster also needed to grind some materials for his exotic sword quest and I just chilled with him on Earth taking mobs out and chatting for a couple hours. It wasn't long then that I got a DM from Buster asking if I wanted to team up and start a podcast. We pulled Business in and the stage was set". The friendships made in the world Bungie has created in Destiny have opened the door for Guardians everywhere to not only become legend in the game but also opportunities to create something special for the community that came from it. Content Creators like everyone started as regular Guardians fighting the darkness in Destiny and were inspired to create something special from the friendships made and created something to share with everyone in the community and beyond that is as special as the light in Destiny. Asking Buster knuckle and DeSRaven how did the RNGCast name come to be Buster Knuckle replied " The name was honestly easy. Destiny had a random roll mechanic for weapons and everyone said it was RNG (Random Number Generator) so we thought it would be cool to use one for the show and not be tied to any one topic and just let the show feel like a conversation between friends(Which is what it is) so RNG plus podcast equals RngCast". The name RNGCast fits the show and these guys so well, with a focus of the show to the world of Destiny they discuss various topics including their RNG in game for that week as well as many other topics outside the world of Destiny. The show truly is a well versed podcast that has something for everyone, at the same time making a new listener feel welcomed and engaged in the conversations they have on the show each week. With being in the community since the beginning I asked if they had any help from others in the community with getting started to do the podcast, Buster knuckle had this to say " I had previous podcasting experience so I could always ask Tim K.A Trotter host of Fork in your ear podcast for any help but most of this was and still is trial and error. I’ve helped out several podcasts though! Which feels good to do so. Barely a Destiny show,Destiny Addicts and Potato thumbs podcast all asked how hard it was to get started and I told them to just do it and you won’t be sorry. I am always around to help out any podcaster with any problem they have".

The RNGCast has gained a following of fans and formed a RNG cast community within the Destiny community itself. I asked them both what sort of feelings did you each have when the rng cast community really took shape, and where it is now compared to when it started? Buster knuckle replied saying " First off I never expected to get the reaction we have so far and I am amazed at the community that formed! We call ourselves The Revolution and honestly that what it feels like sometimes. We argue ,we agree ,we have conversations both about Destiny and many other topics. I’m honestly shocked at the number of people I talk to everyday that stemmed from this game and show. When we started it was during the Boom of D1 so the discord was crazy active and of course some people don’t like or enjoy what D2 has to offer and they go to other games. To those people I want to say we are always here to talk about anything which if you listen to the show you all well know we can talk". From the high points of Destiny 1, RNGCast grew a large community and while alot of the community have since moved onto other games at the moment they are still active in the community keeping up with each other and listening every week to the show as it grows with experience and gains more followers that enjoy the weekly interactions of the incredible people on the RNGCast. With everything the community does the moments the community come together to help others with charity streams is an incredible undertaking that brings a feeling of togetherness that reminds us we are all Fireteam members in this community. I asked Buster and DeSRaven knowing that the RNGCast has themselves helped with many charity streams in the community. I asked how many charity streams have they been on as well as a memorable moment from doing a charity stream?. DeSRaven replied first saying " Buster has been a part of more of the charity streams, my former work made it incredibly difficult to be a part of them, but I do look forward to being more active in that sense moving forward." Buster knuckle then replying to the same question saying " I’m not gonna lie to you and say I know exactly how many streams we/I have been a part of I’m gonna guess and say 6???? The most memorable moment is just being asked to be involved in them period! This community even with all the negativity we are experiencing at the moment is over all an awesome and caring one. So we want to continue that going forward. We will always be a part of any Charity that asks us to be a part of it. With having a podcast of there own, I was curious what it was like being a guest on other community podcasts. Replying first Buster Knuckle in his fun loving way saying " I’ve never met a mic I didn’t like! I love being a guest on other shows it means I don’t need to worry about the production and I can just relax and have fun.....not saying I don’t have fun on RngCast. That and every podcast has a different flow and being put into the flow makes you learn how to talk to a variety of different groups of people." DeSRaven replied after with saying " Personally I'm always blown away by people wanting us as a guest for a show. I usually end up being more nervous as a guest because it's an honor and humbling to viewed as one like, yea we want that guy on. Like being chosen for a community spotlight". Our community is beyond fortunate to have these incredibly inspiring Guardians in our community with us. They have been in the community since its start and has always put their best foot forward with helping anyone in the community that asks for it. They have made friendships that will last well after Destiny, and also inspire us all to do what we love and to not be afraid to create something special for others to enjoy. Lastly their joint willingness with helping support any cause or charity in the community, truly giving the community support that makes the Destiny community stand above others. I asked lastly what is their favorite part of the Destiny community for them, answering with great heart Buster Knuckle said " My favorite part of the community is most definitely the fact that I mentioned above that regardless of the negativity the community will rally around itself and help where it can. The fact Guardian con last year made like 2 million dollars for the children hospital is amazing to me. Regardless of what happens We are still here!!!!!." DeSRaven without hesitating replied " Easily my favorite part of the Destiny community as a whole is the incredible acts of kindness that people can accomplish together. Destiny charity streams are an amazing thing to hear about the success that the community can achieve". It is a great honor having Buster knuckle and DeSRaven of the RNGCast as this weeks Content Creator Spotlight. They both encompass the true meaning of community member and Guardians, as they both work incredibly hard to bring something special each week to the community and with every charity they give 100% support, doing anything within their power to go above and beyond for others. As this year begins we all look forward to everything these Guardians have in-store for us all in the community with the RNGCast podcast and everything else to come.
