Guardians are beginning to collect the new Heroic Zero Hour ship as a mission reward for the recently released adventure dropped by Bungie, and opinions are certainly divisive.
After the well-received Outbreak Perfected was dropped amidst the quest, and its catalyst upgrades required a gauntlet run through the Heroic version of the quest, many people praised Bungie for the new content. Now, it stands to reason that a new ship alongside this powerful pulse rifle should have Guardians smiling even more.
"Woof," was Datto's first response after he checked out the exotic new ship in his inventory on quest's completion. "Woof," he added again. "It's certainly a unique ship, I'll give you that. I mean, it's literally called 'Scrap'."
Datto isn't the only member of the Destiny community to think the SCRAP CF-717-91 is an ugly addition to the game's ship roster. Some, however, are embracing the odd design and blocky nature of the ship so heavily tied to the enigmatic Drifter.
"I love the ugly little thing," one particularly contrary Guardian said after the first images of the SCRAP ship began filtering into the community. "It’s going right next to my Shadow Trespass on the “junk I fly to annoy the rest of you” shelf."
Another Guardian was simply glad they no longer had to put the game-hours into grinding for a ship they knew they wouldn't ever equip: "Welp, found my answer to if I wanted to grind for it."
For lore-focused Guardians, the SCRAP CF-717-91 release was disappointing for a whole other raft of reasons. After the Drifter's ship was billed as a key part of the next stage of the Destiny 2 story in the latest season, the lack of any interaction from the central character after receiving what we believed was his old ship back from the Old Tower was more than a little disappointing for players looking for that next tidbit of story information.
"I thought he would have had some dialogue after we got the ship like maybe it was his old ship or something and there was something very important in it," MrBoxman said on social media after the ship released. "If the SCRAP CF-717-91 wasn't the thing Drifter told us to get back from the Old Tower, what is it that he wants?"
Finally, Tracker Network's favourite response was a plain and simple assessment of the new SCRAP ship, basically summing up the thoughts of anyone who didn't enjoy the square, blocky design - "It looks like WALL-E f**ked a golf cart."
What do you think - do you like the newly released SCRAP CF-717-91, or do you agree with the outspoken community on its poor and rather obtrusive design? Are you going to use it?
