We're less than 24 hours away from the final Season Pass content - the Season of Opulence - dropping live onto Destiny 2 servers, and Bungie has offered up one final piece of sweet content to get Guardians across the world hype: the Crown of Sorrows Raid trailer.
It's not the longest trailer you'll ever see, clocking in at just a speedy 40 seconds, but it gives Guardians an early look at new enemies, raid environments, and particularly what looks like some collectable new gear that will available once Destiny falls under Calus' shadow.
The short clip first shows the Leviathan's doors opening, confirming we will be returning to the popular location. Only this time, it doesn't look light and welcoming like when we battled our way through it early in Destiny 2's lifetime. Now it's dark, black, and really looks like it's seen better days. There's also a teaser shot of the new gear, which looks similar to the Leviathan's new design.
This 40-second teaser has also confirmed that the Hive is going to be the key enemy faced in the Crown of Sorrows content piece. It's been a long time since Guardians came face-to-face with the Hive in a centrepiece Raid. In fact, the last time the zombie-like race got the staring role in an end-game content drop like this was all the way back in the series' second and third raids - Crota's End and King's Fall. It's been a long time for the Hive, considering this will be Bungie's tenth Raid release.
Finally, the description of the video also holds a clue to what we're going to be seeing inside the Raid. "Deep within the belly of the Leviathan, one of Calus' former loyalists has lost his mind to an Ascendant Hive relic," the description reads. Exciting, to say the least.
The trailer also includes one final piece of information - a link to Destiny 2's Twitch homepage. That's Bungie's way of saying "tune in" when the Raid drops. Teams and clans all over the world will be going for the new World's First, where Raid-teams race the clock to be the very first Guardians to finish the new content. That race begins at 4pm PT, on Tuesday, June 4.
