The Trials of Osiris leaks are becoming more and more abundant as due to its suspected release drawing nearer and nearer, Bungie is attempted to sneak in more and more of the mode into the game’s files.
Unfortunately for Bungie, but fortunately for us, this means dataminers are able to view some of this content but sometimes the game just decides to do something it shouldn't and show us something very interesting.
When setting up a Private Match and fiddling with the settings it was discovered that it’s possible for the UI screen to bug out and show something hidden within the game files, most likely added to the game with the recent Update 2.7.1.
This is the image discovered:
This image was uploaded to Twitter by user Sin on Twitch (@SinTriggger). It appears that to unlock this quest the Triumph ‘Empyrean Restorer’ must be achieved. The quest is titled ‘Worthy’ and its description reads:
“Provide tremendous support towards the Restoration effort and rekindle the Lighthouse to usher in a new age of Guardians.”
From the UI it does seem that this is indeed at least a full-sized mission, it could even be a fully-fledged multi-step quest to activate the Lighthouse using the donated Polarized Fractaline. The chance of it just being a single mission is much more likely though so don’t get your hopes up for hours of content.
This seems to confirm some popular theories put forward by many community members when the Trials of Osiris leaks started to build momentum. It was theorized that the Empyrean Foundation would be the start of the community efforts to unlock Trials of Osiris which seems to be 100% correct if these leaks are to be believed.
This quest seems fairly likely to be linked in some way to the information regarding Trials of Osiris that was datamined by Ginsor discussed in this article (Editor link 1st Trials article) as it seems this ‘Worthy’ quest directly references the leaked name of the next season, Season of the Worthy.
It seems that every day we are getting more and more concrete information regarding the return of Trials of Osiris. There is now almost no doubt that the Empyrean Foundation event is the first step in its illustrious return.
