Loot drop glitch overshadows Trials of Osiris again, even after Hotfix 2.8.0.2 release

After the launch of Trials of Osiris this week, players soon discovered that the usual loot drops for three, five, seven, and flawless wins were not being given out. Was this a repeat of the previous week’s bug? Had Bungie not fixed it in time? Was this something new?

It turns out this bug is worse than the previous one and could lead to many Guardians going the whole week without any of the usual Trials of Osiris loot drops. For those out of the loop, below is a quick recap of the situation.

Last week, a bug was discovered in the reset times for the loot drops where they were not resetting until the daily reset on Saturday, not at the Friday reset when Trials of Osiris went live.

This led to whoever played the game mode on Friday not receiving any of the loot drops for 3, 5, 7 and Flawless wins until they played the game mode again after the Saturday reset. This only affected players who had received these loot drops the previous week as it was a simple problem with the weekly Challenge resetting.

Hotfix 2.8.0.2 was released earlier this week which fixed a few minor issues and contained the following fix to the loot reset bug:

“Fixed an issue where Trials of Osiris challenges were not being reset properly, causing some players to not receive rewards.”

Unfortunately, this ‘fix’ has not only not worked, but also worsened the issue. Players who achieved the win thresholds found they were not obtaining the loot drops for this week. It was simply assumed that the loot bug from last week had not been fixed properly and that they would only have to wait until Saturday reset to try again. Turns out this was not the case.

A few hours after the launch of Trials of Osiris this week, Bungie tweeted out from the @BungieHelp account the following message:

“Characters who do not have the Trials of Osiris Weekly Challenge will be unable to earn powerful rewards from their 3rd, 5th, and 7th Trials of Osiris win this week. This issue is expected to be resolved next Friday, Apr. 10, at 10 AM PDT.”

What this message is saying is that if you hover over the Trials of Osiris node in the Crucible there should be a glowing yellow marker with the Weekly Challenge that reads: “WEEKLY - Trials Reward (1/3) Win three matches on a ticket to receive a powerful reward.”

If this is not there then the character you are currently on is bugged and won't receive any Trials of Osiris reward for 3, 5 and 7 wins, not even once the Saturday reset hits. 

You should still be able to turn in Tokens earned from Trials of Osiris wins though for at least some loot, just no Powerful rewards this week from the win thresholds.
