Where is Xur and what is he selling? Destiny 2's Exotic Location, Weapon, Armor: February 21-24

Where is Xur in Destiny 2 today? The exotic and mysterious gear merchant, otherwise known as the Agent of the Nine, is ready to sell you some new exotic weapons and armor in exchange for your legendary shards.

This week, Xur is located at the Winding Cove in the EDZ this week where he will trade his usual assortment of Exotics for a handful of Legendary Shards.

To find Xur, head slightly north-east from the spawn until you reach the roadway. Forking left off the road will be a rocky pathway that will lead to a small group of enemies and a Fallen ship that has crashed into the rock face above.

To the right of a ship is a section of the rock wall that can be jumped up to reach the Fallen ship. Xur is standing next to the ship.

Exotic Weapon - The Colony

Cost - 29 Legendary Shards

The Colony is a Power weapon Grenade Launcher that deals Void damage. Its Exotic perks read:

• Insectoid Robot Grenades - This weapon's grenades are insectoid robots that chase targets and explode close to them.
• Serve the Colony - Insectoid robot grenades quickly repopulate the magazine from reserves while the Colony is unequipped.

The Colony is certainly a very unique Exotic in terms of its mechanics and design. The weapon fires small spider-like robots that will race across the floor, walls or ceiling at great speeds in order to close the distance between itself and an enemy Guardian.

Once close enough the robot will explode, dealing large amounts of damage in an area around it. It takes 2 shots to kill a Guardian.

This weapon is fairly strong in PvP due to its ease of use as a ‘fire and forget’ weapon. The insectoid robots can be fired in the general direction of an enemy Guardian as an almost guaranteed kill unless the enemy can stay in the air long enough to cause the robots to explode by themselves.

Depending on whether the wielder is using Grenade Launcher Scavenger perks, grabbing Heavy ammo can give enough shots for 2 or 3 easy PvP kills that require very little thought. The Colony is very much recommended to be picked up for any PvP mode.

The Colony can perform ‘ok’ in PvE activities but is greatly outperformed by basically any other Legendary Grenade Launcher so is not worth taking up the Exotic slot.

Warlock Armor - Crown of Tempests

Cost - 23 Legendary Shards

Crown of Tempests is an Exotic Helmet for the Warlock class. Its Exotic perk reads:

• Conduction Tines - Arc ability kills increase the recharge rate of your Arc abilities and extend the duration of Stormtrance.

Killing an enemy with an Arc ability will grant the buff ‘Conduction Tines’ which lasts for 7 seconds and will grant increased ability regeneration. Multiple enemies killed will grant multiple stacks of the buff with it refreshing back to 6 seconds with each new Arc ability kill.

Conduction Tines can stack up to 3 times and at this stage, it grants massively increased ability regeneration.

The perk has a secondary where the timer for Stormtrance will be extended if kills are gained either with the Super itself or other Arc abilities. If the user is chaining kills with Stormtrance then the duration can be almost doubled when using Crown of Tempests.

This is an incredible Exotic for the Warlock Stormcaller subclass as it gives a massive increase to ability uptime. It simply allows the user to more efficiently and effectively kill both enemy Guardians and PvE enemies. Well worth the 23 Legendary Shards.

Hunter Exotic - Raiden Flux

Cost - 23 Legendary Shards

Raiden Flux is an Exotic Chest piece for the Hunter class. Its Exotic perk reads:

• Synapse Junctions - Quick successive attacks with Arc Staff increase its damage output and duration

When a kill is gained with Arc Staff while wearing this Exotic, the buff ‘Synapse Junctions’ will be granted for 5 seconds.

While this buff is active, both the damage and timer for Arc staff is increased. If another kill is gained with Arc staff an additional stack of the buff will be granted and the timer will reset back up to 5 seconds. Synapse Junctions can stack up for 3 times where it will grant a total increase in damage of 46%.

Raiden Flux is another fantastic Exotic as it gives you everything you would need for an Exotic that's based around Super usage, both damage and duration. The damage increase is fairly substantial and the increased duration is very noticable.

The only downside to this Exotic is mainly due to Arc Staff not seeing a whole heap of use in higher difficulty activities as Nightstalker is the go-to there. Like Crown of Tempests, Raiden Flux is a bargain of a buy at 23 Legendary Shards and is worth the purchase if you have yet to acquire it.

Titan Exotic - Mask of the Quiet One

Cost - 23 Legendary Shards

Mask of the Quiet One is an Exotic Helmet for the Titan class. Its Exotic perk reads:

• Dreaded Visage - Grants ability energy when you’re damaged. When critically wounded, regain maximum health on kills.

If the player is damaged while wearing this Exotic they will receive a small amount of ability energy with this effect having a small cooldown of a few seconds. The ability energy is noticeable although not very noteworthy.

The main ability for Mask of the Quiet One is that when the wearer is critically wounded, gaining a kill will instantly grant the wearer maximum health. This does not affect shields, only the red portion of the bar will be refilled.

This ability can serve to get you out of a pinch in certain situations but it has a very small window on which it can be activated before death and even then, only having a small amount of health with no shields does not exactly make you safe.

Mask of the Quiet one does have the strong benefit of being a great looking Exotic but sadly it falls a bit short with its abilities. If the perk also gave a small number of shields to bring it close to the Warlock’s Devour perk it could become something decent but as it stands this is a middle of the pack Exotic.
