Bungie releases official Season of the Dawn trailer, drops information web page

In anticipation of the Season of Dawn reveal stream happening at 10am PST on December 4, Bungie has released both a short trailer and a web page to give players details on what exactly is in the new Season.

New Story (Requires Season Pass)

With the Vex invasion defeated, time has been shattered. Renowned Warlock Osiris returns from his studies on the Vex timelines to warn you against a new threat. The Cabal’s Council of Psion Flayers have begun work on manipulating time to change the course of the Red War and bring about a victory for the Cabal.

Osiris gives the following narration over the course of the trailer:

“You’ve been busy Guardian. When you slew the Undying Mind, you changed the course of history. Now time is broken on Mercury, fractured by the Legion. They intend to write a new history, a new ending to the Red War. If you’re willing to help, you’ll need to walk the corridors of time, and you’ll need my Sundial to do it. I built it so an ally of mine could cheat death. I failed to help him and his death remains my greatest regret.”

Who is shown next in the trailer is a character the community has been very vocal about wanting some screen time. Legendary Titan Saint-14 is set to make his debut, fully voiced, appearance in the Destiny franchise with the upcoming Season of Dawn.

“They call me the greatest Titan who ever lived,” says Saint-14.

Guardians must repair the broken timelines in order to save Saint-14 and with his help, repel the Cabal from Mercury.

New Activities (Requires Season Pass)

Osiris has built a mysterious machine known as The Sundial to help repair the fractured timelines. Defend this machine against a relentless Cabal onslaught with a full Fireteam of 6 Guardians. This mode also features matchmaking

Complete Timelost weapon frames in order to choose which weapons you earn at the completion of the activity.

New Seasonal Artifact (Free to all Players)

The Gate Lord’s Eye Seasonal Artifact is being retired along with the Season of the Undying but with the new Season of Dawn comes a new Seasonal Artifact. 

The Lantern of Osiris is the new Seasonal Artifact and is free to all Destiny 2 players. Alongside this new artifact will come new seasonal mods that will be unlocked through XP

Seasonal mods for Season of the Undying focused on Arc and Void damage so it can be assumed that the new seasonal mods featured in Season of Dawn will have a Solar focus.

New Season Pass Rewards

With the new Season of Dawn all Guardian’s Seasonal Rank will be reset back to 1 and will need to be leveled up through XP again. 

A hefty amount of new and interesting rewards will accompany this leveling system with upgrade materials, engrams, XP boosts, Ghost shells, armor, emotes and ornaments all being featured in a similar fashion to Season of the Undying. 

Players who purchase the Season Pass will unlock the Exotic Scout Rifle Symmetry at Rank 1, while free to play players will need to wait until rank 35. Two other new weapons can be unlocked through the Season Pass, a Rocket Launcher at rank 30 and another Scout Rifle at 45. The famous Saint-14 headbutt finisher is also available at rank 10.
