The week of Stasis subclass reveals continue with Titans getting their first in depth look at the new Behemoth subclass coming in Beyond Light.
It’s been stated before in the previous Warlock Shadebinder reveal that each new subclass will focus on a particular facet of the power of Stasis. We know that Shadebinder revolves around the freezing of enemies with Stasis and now it's been shown that Behemoth will use these powers of the Darkness to both create and destroy.
Behemoth is all about controlling the battlefield through creation and destruction of cover through the use of various Stasis abilities. These Stasis abilities can be used either offensively to freeze enemies with erupting ice pillars or defensively to create new cover for your Fireteam.
The melee attack for the Behemoth subclass is known as ‘Shiver Strike’. With this ability the Titan is propelled forward by a small Stasis explosion at their feet and then coats their fist in pure Stasis energy ready to strike an enemy. Once this powerful melee strike connects the enemy is hurtled backwards to then slow nearby enemies.
The Super for Behemoth is ‘Glacial Quake’. With this Super the Titan forms a gauntlet of Stasis energy around their fist and then slams into the ground, sending out shockwaves of Stasis crystals that slow and freeze enemies in the area. From here, the Titan is able to become a one man wrecking ball by launching themselves towards enemies to brutally obliterate them with the powerful melee attacks granted by Glacial Quake. The Titan Behemoth will also be extremely hard to take down due to the damage reduction granted by the ‘Crystalline Plating’ perk.
Customizing Stasis - Aspects and Fragments
The new Aspects and Fragments, which are used to customize the Stasis subclasses, have been talked about in the previous Warlock Shadebinder article. If you’re a Titan main and haven't read that piece here is the long and the short of it: Aspects are the top level customization items for the Stasis subclasses that can add completely new functions to abilities while Fragments add smaller passive and stat bonuses.
An example of this for the Behemoth is the ‘Tectonic Harvest’ Aspect which grants melee energy to the player when they or their allies pick up a Stasis shard created by shattering a Stasis crystal.
An example of a Fragment for the Behemoth subclass is ‘Whisper of Durance’. This Fragment causes any slowing effects granted by the Titan’s abilities to last longer and also grants a simple +10 modifier to the Strength stat.
Be sure to check back on the 8th to see the reveal for the Hunter Revenant subclass.
