Bungie Day, the annual celebration of all things Bungie, is almost upon us, and this year it's taking a philanthropic turn. The Bungie Foundation is launching its fourth Bungie Day Giving Festival, a two-week event filled with gaming, fundraising, and a whole lot of community spirit.
The Giving Festival, which runs from July 6 to July 23, is set to be a jam-packed event featuring a lineup of streamers, a community competition, and a plethora of awards for top fundraisers. The festival also promises a week full of prizes, with registration for fundraising already open.
But the festival isn't just about gaming and prizes. The Bungie Foundation has a long history of charitable work, raising over $5 million in 2022 alone. The funds raised have been used to support a range of causes, from providing iPads to pediatric patients in hospitals to funding anti-racist character creation research and providing STEM scholarships to students who would otherwise be unable to afford a college education.
This year's festival is set to be bigger and better than ever, with more prizes on offer than in any previous year. Donors can look forward to a range of rewards, from the Heartful Shell Exotic Ghost for a $10 donation to a bundle of every Bungie Day emblem released over the past five years for a $100 donation.
The second week of the festival will see the introduction of the "Seven Days of Prizes" event, with a different prize up for grabs each day. Prizes range from a signed Lightfall Collector’s Edition to a Sony PlayStation game code bundle.
In a first for the Bungie community, the festival will also feature a worldwide emblem art competition. The winning design will be made into an in-game emblem for a future fundraising campaign. Submissions are open from today until July 13, with the winner to be announced in the July 20 TWID.
The Bungie Store is also joining in the Bungie Day celebrations, offering new Destiny 2 apparel and collectibles from July 7 through July 13. Any purchase will come with a free Bungie Day-themed emblem, and there will be a sale and restock of previously retired Bungie Rewards.
