How to get Destiny 2's best Seventh Seraph weapons – top-tier perks, barrels, more

The newly released Season of the Worthy is in full swing with many Guardians starting to gain a few ranks for the EDZ Seraph Bunker.

Each Bunker, with the Moon and Io Bunkers being released later in the Season, gives access to powerful Seventh Seraph weapon bounties once Rank 3 is achieved. At the present time only the Kinetic Auto Rifle ‘Seventh Seraph Carbine’ is available as it is linked to the EDZ Bunker.

At first glance, a lot of these weapons might not seem that powerful due to their mediocre perk pools but these Seventh Seraph weapons have a hidden ace up their sleeves: The Warmind Cells. Warmind Cells are small orbs that drop from enemies killed with a Seventh Seraph weapon if certain Seasonal Mods are equipped.

Shooting and destroying these Warmind Cells can cause a variety of powerful effects such as an extremely large Solar explosion, a blast of suppressing Void energy, or release a wave of healing energy for your Fireteam.

So even though these Seventh Seraph weapons might not seem that great in a vacuum, be aware that when combined with the Warmind Cell Season Mods they can become some of the best

Here are the best perks to aim for when farming for these weapons when they each become available:

Kinetic Auto Rifle - Seventh Seraph Carbine

(Rank 3 EDZ Bunker)

The Seventh Seraph Carbine is a Kinetic Auto Rifle that fires at 450RPM, making it a Precision Frame Auto Rifle. As with most of the slower firing Auto Rifles, the Carbine has excellent Range and Stability that allows it to be dealing its full damage from a greater distance with consistency. It also has a recoil direction value of 74 so its recoil bounce is almost completely vertical, making this weapon very easy to control.

Unfortunately with the recent Auto Rifles Buffs the Precision Frames did not fare as well as the Adaptive and Rapid-Fire Frames so they are still not that great in PvP. Auto Rifles like Hard Light and Suros Regime will consistently outperform them.

Recommended Perks for PvE

  • Barrel - Corkscrew Rifling, Extended Barrel, Full Bore, Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine - High-Caliber Rounds, Ricochet Rounds, Armor-Piercing Rounds, Extended Mag, Light Mag
  • Perk 1 - Fourth Time’s The Charm, Auto-Loading Holster,
  • Perk 2 - Swashbuckler, Rampage
  • Masterwork - Range (Mouse+Keyboard), Stability (Controller)

Recommended Perks for PvP

  • Barrel - Chambered Compensator (Controller), Corkscrew Rifling, Extended Barrel, Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine -
  • Perk 1 - High-Caliber Rounds, Ricochet Rounds, Armor-Piercing Rounds, Extended Mag, Light Mag
  • Perk 2 - Rangefinder, Moving Target, Rampage
  • Masterwork - Range (Mouse+Keyboard), Stability (Controller)

Void Sidearm - Seventh Seraph SI-2

(Rank 3 Moon Bunker)

The SI-2 is a Lightweight Void Sidearm that fires at 360 RPM. The benefit of the Lightweight Frames is the extra Mobility while wielding this weapon as well as a high Handling stat for quick ADS and Ready/Stow speeds.

The downside of Lightweights is the fairly low Range stat when compared to other Sidearm archetypes with the SI-2 itself having a value of 24. Fortunately there are a multitude of perks to increase this number to a respectable amount.

Even though the SI-2’s stats are fairly respectable for its archetype, it does suffer from having a fairly mediocre perk pool as it has zero reload-enhancing or damage-increasing perks that have become a staple on weapons.

This means for this weapon to be viable your going to be relying on it generating Warmind Cells.

Make sure to load up on the relevant Season Perks to get the most bang for your buck when activating these Cells.

Recommended Perks for PvE

  • Barrel - Hammer-Forged Rifling, Extended Barrel, Full Bore, Corkscrew Rifling
  • Magazine - Accurized Rounds, Tactical Mag, Alloy Magazine
  • Perk 1 - Demolitionist, Threat Detector, Auto-Loading Holster
  • Perk 2 - Dragonfly, Surrounded, Elemental Capacitor
  • Masterwork - Range, Stability

Recommended Perks for PvP

  • Perk 1 - Hip-Fire Grip, Auto-Loading Holster, Full-Auto Trigger
  • Perk 2 - Zen Moment (Controller), Vorpal Weapon, Snapshot Sights
  • Masterwork - Range, Stability

Kinetic Hand Cannon - Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver

(Rank 3 Io Bunker)

The Officer Revolver is a Kinetic Hand Cannon that fires at 180RPM, making it a Precision Frame like Trust and Service Revolver. If Officer Revolver’s stats are compared to these two other Hand Cannons it can be seen that this Seventh Seraph weapon really isn't that great.

The only stat that that Officer Revolver beats Service Revolver in is Reload speed with Officer having 54 and Service 37. When compared to Trust it becomes even direr as Trust handily beats Officer Revolver in every single stat, some by a significant margin.

Combine this with the terrible perk pool of the Officer Revolver and it becomes clear that this weapon simply becomes a proxy for delivering the effects of Warmind Cells like the SI-2 Sidearm above.

The unfortunate thing is that Officer Revolver could have a very good perk roll if both Feeding Frenzy and Multi-Kill Clip weren't in the same column.

As it stands there are good perks in the second column but the first contains mainly poor perks or ones that have direct anti-synergy with some perks from the second, namely combinations like Fourth Time’s The Charm and Multi-Kill Clip.

Recommended Perks for PvE

  • Barrel -  Hammer-Forged Rifling, Extended Barrel, Full Bore, Corkscrew Rifling
  • Magazine - Accurized Rounds, Drop Mag, Alloy magazine, Extended Mag (With Feeding Frenzy)
  • Perk 1 - Ambitious Assassin (With Multi-Kill Clip),
  • Perk 2 - Multi-Kill Clip, Feeding Frenzy
  • Masterwork - Range, Stability

Recommended Perks for PvP

  • Barrel - Hammer-Forged Rifling, Extended Barrel, Full Bore, Corkscrew Rifling
  • Magazine - Accurized Rounds, Drop Mag, Alloy magazine, Extended Mag (With Feeding Frenzy)
  • Perk 1 - Pulse Monitor, Fourth Time’s The Charm
  • Perk 2 - Feeding Frenzy, Timed Payload
  • Masterwork - Range, Stability

Arc Machine Gun - Seventh Seraph SAW

(All Bunkers Rank 3)

SAW is an Arc Machine Gun that fires at 360 RPM, making it a part of the High Impact Class along with such other Machine Guns as Fixed Odds and Bane of Sorrow.

SAW follows the same trend with these Seventh Seraph weapons were it simply has worse stats than a lot of its competitors, mainly to offset the extra power provided by the Warmind Cells. SAW does have the benefit of being the only High Impact Arc Machine Gun if that really means much.

The problem with all Machine Guns going forward, at least until older weapons start to be phased out as Luke Smith mentioned in his Director’s Cut, is that when it comes to PvE they will be compared to 21% Delirium.

Since the nerf to Machine Gun Boss DPS, Machine Guns have become the go-to way to quickly clear out enemies in PvE and nothing does it better than 21% Delirium.

Machine Guns are still fairly powerful in PvP but the meta at the present time are Adaptive Frames like Hammerhead, Avalanche or Thunderlord as they combine the most well-rounded aspects of damage, fire-rate, range, and stability.

Recommended Perks for PvE:

  • Barrel - Arrowhead Brake (Controller), Corkscrew Rifling, Fluted Barrel, Chambered Compensator, Smallbore
  • Magazine - Extended Magazine, Alloy Magazine, High-Caliber Rounds, Armor-Piercing Rounds, Ricochet Rounds, Light Mag
  • Perk 1 - Auto-Loading Holster, Field Prep, Clown Cartridge, Zen Moment (Controller)
  • Perk 2 - Vorpal Weapon, Disruption Break, Firing Line
  • Masterwork - Range (Mouse+Keyboard), Stability (Controller)

Recommended Perks for PvP:

  • Barrel - Arrowhead Brake (Controller), Corkscrew Rifling, Fluted Barrel, Chambered Compensator, Smallbore
  • Magazine - Extended Magazine, Alloy Magazine, High-Caliber Rounds, Armor-Piercing Rounds, Ricochet Rounds, Light Mag
  • Perk 1 - Zen Moment (Nothing else really works as all the other perks revolve around reloading or refilling the magazine. You rarely have enough Heavy Ammo to reload with a Machine Gun in PvP)
  • Perk 2 - Opening Shot, Vorpal Weapon, Mulligan
  • Masterwork - Range (Mouse+Keyboard), Stability (PvP)

Arc Submachine Gun - Seventh Seraph VY-7

(Season Rank 30)

VY-7 is an Arc Submachine Gun that fires at 600 RPM, making it a Precision Frame and one of the slowest firing SMGs. Other Precision Frames are the Antiope-D, Atlanta-D and the Bad Reputation. Unlike the other Seventh Seraph weapons, VY-7 actually has very decent stats when compared to other similar weapons.

Its Range is one of the highest in its class at 59 with it only being beaten by Antiope-D’s 63. A Stability stat of 48 makes it highest in class with it also having middle of the pack numbers for Handling, Reload Speed, and Aim Assistance. All in all, a fairly powerful weapon when it is combined with the Warmind Cell mods.

Recommended Perks for PvE

  • Barrel - Arrowhead Brake (Controller), Corkscrew Rifling, Fluted Barrel, Chambered Compensator, Smallbore
  • Magazine - Accurized Rounds, Extended Mag
  • Perk 1 -  Ambitious Assassin, Fourth Time’s The Charm
  • Perk 2 - Feeding Frenzy, Dragonfly
  • Magazine - Range (Mouse+Keyboard), Stability (Controller)

Recommended Perks for PvP

  • Barrel - Arrowhead Brake (Controller), Corkscrew Rifling, Fluted Barrel, Chambered Compensator, Smallbore
  • Magazine - Accurized Rounds, Extended Mag
  • Perk 1 - Pulse Monitor,
  • Perk 2 - Feeding Frenzy
  • Magazine - Range (Mouse+Keyboard), Stability (Controller)

Solar Shotgun - Seventh Seraph CQC-12

(Season Rank 45)

Seventh Seraph CQC-12 is a Lightweight Solar Shotgun. Lightweight Shotguns are kind of in a tricky spot at the moment. In PvE they simply don’t do as much DPS as Rapid-Fire Shotguns like Ikelos or Perfect Paradox. In PvP they have a less consistent 1-shot kill from longer ranges than Aggressive Frames such as Mindbenders Ambition. Lightweight Shotguns are the jack of all trades but master of none.

CQC-12 still has good stat values though with a lot of them such as Range and Handling being in the same ballpark as many other Lightweight such as Parcel of Stardust and Hawthorne's Field-Forged Shotgun.

Combine CQC-12 with the Modular Lightning Seasonal mod, which creates a chain of Arc Lightning when collecting a Warmind Cell, to cause some true mayhem.

Recommended Perks for PvE

  • Barrel - Full Choke, Rifled Barrel
  • Magazine - Accurized Rounds, Light Mag
  • Perk 1 - Lead from Gold
  • Perk 2 - Trench Barrel
  • Masterwork - Range

Recommended Perks for PvP

  • Barrel - Full Choke, Rifled Barrel
  • Magazine - Accurized Rounds, Light Mag
  • Perk 1 - Quickdraw, Slideshot
  • Perk 2 - Snapshot Sights
  • Masterwork - Range
