As we have all been on the edge of our seat, anxiously awaiting the day we could farm for a randomly rolled Hawkmoon, Bungie has knocked it out of the ballpark with a new breathtaking mission.
To start the quest, head to the Trostland in the EDZ. There in the building to your right, you will find a fireplace. Equip your Hawkmoon and begin firing till it shatters the entrance.
Once you are through the entrance, turn immediately to your left and start the mission at the electrical box. This will launch you into the Harbinger activity. For your first run, I do highly recommend a full fireteam with unstoppable mods equipped, however, it is able to be done solo.
From here you will be traveling through a jumping puzzle where you can find my full video guide through here.
After clearing the jumping puzzle you will need to defeat three separate emissaries. This is done by weakening them till they become immune and then chasing each one down in a room off to the side of the main area. You can take them down one at a time or weaken each and go back and refind them all.
Once this is done you will follow the Hawk till you arrive at a section of the quest that looks extremely familiar to the Lake of Shadows Quest (fun fact its right below that boss).
After you survive three waves of enemies scale up the debris in the arena till you come to the doorway held off by a Taken Blight. Pierce this blight and you will enter into the original Hawkmoon jumping puzzle.
Complete it by defeating the enemies at the end as you did the first time you obtained the gun and you will be awarded two Hawkmoons, both randomly rolled, as well as the Exotic Catalyst.
The Catalyst for Hawkmoon will give it an extra bullet in the chamber as well as a Killing Wind like perk. You are able to complete this by defeating enemies with Hawkmoon in any game mode. I recommend a certain Taken Raid.
So far my favorite roll has been Killing Wind and Opening Shot, though I would recommend trying every combination you get as you never know what you will personally love the most. As of right now you can do this one per character per week so you are able to get six rolls per reset.
