How To Upgrade The Hammer Of Proving, Destiny 2's New Vendor

Empress Caiatl has arrived and as she seeks to unite the fallen remnants of the Red Legion under her banner, it is now up to us to strike down her forces during their ritualistic combat exhibition.

After completing your first few Battleground matches you may notice that you have received the Hammer of Proving. This ritual artifact is the center of how you will rank up and progress at the H.E.L.M. this season. As you receive Umbral Engrams, the hammer will also be how you unlock the full potential of Umbral Engrams as it is also used in the infusion process for higher tier and focused drops.

Bungie does an excellent job laying out how useful this Hammer is and just how sentimental it is to the Cabal and what is currently at stake. What ends up not being so clear is exactly how you go about upgrading the Hammer of Proving. Here is what you will need to do.

- Open Settings and navigate to the Quests tab.

- Open the new Seasonal Challenges tab that has been added at the top of your quest menu.

- Hover over the currently accessible challenges and aim to complete the ones that award War Table Reputation

- Completing these challenges will provide what you need to upgrade the Hammer of Proving at the Helm

It does look like for week one, Bungie is limiting the maximum amount of rank ups you can achieve to three. I went with upgrading the Hammer’s maximum charges so I could infuse Tier 3 Umbral Engrams and be more prepared for next week.

As you complete these challenges you will also receive engrams for each rank up you achieve.

Make sure to continue earning Cabal Gold from Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit so you can slot the runes you unlock for your Hammer to maximize the rewards as you upgrade the Hammer.
