Destiny 2's New 'Beyond Light' Trailer Will Give You Chills

As a huge fan of Destiny and the Rolling Stones, this trailer was everything I needed to get me even more excited for Beyond Light.

With less than twelve days away, Bungie has given us what might be our last cinematic look into the next expansion. The trailer is an absolute must watch and features a shocking amount of new footage, something I did not expect this far into Bungie’s launch campaign.

The trailer starts off with Zavala in the tower gearing up Guardians to go across space to get ready to stand against the Darkness. Many have speculated that the trailer features citizens running through the tower in fear, but as I looked closer they appear to be Guardians possibly running towards their ships to be deployed.

We also get a better look at Variks in this trailer as we see him being the distress beacon that possibly alerted the Stranger and the rest of the anti-vanguard. The next few scenes showcase an all-out battle between the anti-heroes and the Fallen, and we get an outstanding showcase of what these new abilities look like when used together in combat.

My favorite part of the trailer is when we hear the Stranger proclaim her true intentions behind wielding the power of the Dark. “The Vanguard only recognizes the Light. Someone has to do the same for the Dark. Stasis is just a tool; we must use it for Good.” This line is one of the most empowering and exciting dialogue lines we have gotten, and it sent chills (no pun intended) down my spine.

I am firmly holding out hope still for an end of season live event. As mentioned in my article about the Playstation key art, I believe we are returning to the old tower, and we still need to see the traveler healed. November 5th has been speculated by many as an essential date in Destiny where we will see some big change happen; hopefully, this will be the moment.
