So you want to get into shape, but your addiction to playing Destiny 2 every day and grinding quests, missions, and even just mucking around in the game world means you can't tear yourself away to go for a run? Don't worry, it's possible we're all in the same boat there.
Luckily, one fit Guardian seems to have found a solution to the problem. Zegold, who revealed they were both an avid Destiny grinder and a regular athlete, has come up with a series of tasks - or maybe punishments if you really, really hate exercise - that you can do to get fit while still grinding for that Outbreak Perfected, or the clunky-looking SCRAP CF-717-91.
"I came up with a challenge for those who want to workout while playing," Zegold said. "This is for anyone that wants to feel better about themselves while playing games. Getting in shape starts with baby steps.
"If you think this is too hard, cut down the numbers, or change the exercises to be more comfortable. I am all for everyone going to the gym and adequately working out, but for some people who find that problematic to start with, do this and work your way up. I will preface this with: if you are going to do this, please drink water. It will tire you out. Enjoy!"
So without further ado, here's Zegold's list of exercises to do while playing Destiny, and when you should be up out of your chair and smashing the crunches:
- Loading screens: 10 push-ups and 10 crunches
- Going to the post-master: 5 push-ups, or 5 jump-squats
- Turning in a bounty: 5 burpees
- When you visit Tess: 5 push-ups per engram
- When you visit the Cryptarch: 5 high crunches
- For every Crucible loss: 20 push-ups, or 10 sit-ups and 10 leg raises
- For every Crucible victory: 20 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and 10 leg raises
- If you lose a Gambit round/match: 10 v-ups
- If you do less than 15 percent Prime Evil damage: 10 push-ups
- If you get killed by an invader three times: 5 bicycles
- If your team gets wiped by an invader: 10 push-ups
- When loading into a Strike: 10 squats
- If your fireteam wipes in a Strike: 15 leg raises
- If you take more than one minute to beat a boss: 20 push-ups
- When loading into a Raid: 10 lunges
- When your team wipes in the Raid: 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups
- If you go for a challenge and fail: 10 jump squats
- When you are killed by the Architects: 10 squats
- Every stupid death: 10 push-ups
- Every exotic or catalyst drop: 15-count leg raise hold
- Every prime engram drop: 10-count superman hold
Got all that? According to Zegold, if you smash out this exercise while you're playing, you'll be as fit as a fiddle in no time. And that's all while grabbing the best loot you can in Destiny. Pretty good, right?
