Only 12 hours left. That's right, the final piece of the Season Pass puzzle is set to drop live onto servers at 1pm ET/10am PT once Bungie has completed pre-content maintenance.

So what's your plan? Are you racing straight to the highest level possible, and putting your hat in the circle for a potential World's First? Are you just looking forward to seeing what kind of narrative Bungie has introduced for Emperor Calus and his obsession with opulence?

No matter what you're actually planning on getting up to once the Season of Opulence goes live, there are a few things that you have to keep in mind. Firstly, Bungie is taking Destiny 2 offline ahead of the content release. At 10am ET/7am PT maintenance begins, and just an hour later players won't be able to log in to the game anymore. From there, it's a two-hour wait.

Realistically though, that's really where someone like the Avengers' Doctor Strange would say "We're in the endgame now," and he'd be right. The season's content is getting poured into Destiny's live realms, and the final hurdle of the hype is in front of eager Guardians. What I normally do in the downtime is grab some snacks, make sure I've had a big meal, and settle in for the grind.

If you're not a patient player either, just remember to take deep breaths. Whenever Bungie drops new major content like this, a lot of features in the game struggle. Population numbers hit their peak again at the start of the expansion, and API-based content like Destiny Tracker, and the Destiny Item Manager, all struggle under the load as they churn through thousands and thousands of returning players per second.

There are also a few things that Guardians have to do before they can jump straight into the Season's new content. You'll have to swing by Benedict at the tower and run through an introduction of the Opulence content that will be swinging straight into our hands in the coming hours. There's also a cheeky Power boost that Benedict will give you, that lets Guardians that have been dragging their feet get right into the grind. This boost will jump you to 690 Power.

So, that's basically it. We already know that Bungie is bringing a new, six-player mode called The Menagerie to servers, and have had confirmation the new Pinnacle weapons are kind of cool - especially if you like bows. We've even had a sneak peek of the new Crown of Sorrows content, and know we'll be battling the Hive, and one of Calus' crazy loyalists.

Now all there is for us to do is wait, just a few hours, then go crazy on the new season content.

Destiny 2: Season of Opulence launches at 1pm ET/10 am PT, and the raid goes live at 4 pm PT/7 pm ET. The Contest mode will be open for 24 hours from this point.
