How to unlock the seven stages of the Empyrean Foundation with donations

The newest Destiny 2 event known as the Empyrean Foundation is set to launch alongside the next weekly reset of February 4th but up until now, there has been very little concrete information on what the event will entail.

That has now changed with the most recent ‘This Week at Bungie’ blog update as a fair amount of information about the activity has been teased by the developers.

During this event, players are asked to contribute any Polarized Fractaline that they are able to in order to aid Saint-14 with the restoration of the Empyrean Foundation. This foundation is rumored to be a part of Mercury’s Lighthouse and will also path the way for things to come in the following Season.

Players will need to have the Tower Obelisk unlocked in order to contribute to this event. If you have not unlocked this Obelisk yet, click here for a guide.

Once the Tower Obelisk is unlocked, players are able to interact with it and donate resources in order to reach a common, community-wide goal. The community goal is split up into 7 different stages of increasing donation amounts:

• Stage 1: 400,000,000
• Stage 2: 700,000,000
• Stage 3: 1,200,000,000
• Stage 4: ???
• Stage 5: ???
• Stage 6: ???
• Stage 7: ???

The last 4 stages have yet to be revealed. It’s unclear whether they will be revealed once the event goes live or once each stage is reached by the community. The community’s progress towards each stage will be able to be viewed from the Tower Obelisk menu screen.

Donating to the Empyrean Foundation will also gift the player with various rewards as a token of appreciation. Here’s what’s being handed out:

• Contributing to the Empyrean Foundation costs 100 Polarized Fractaline for each donation.
• Contributing a donation generates a 25% flat progression for all Timelost weapon bounties in your inventory. Now’s the time for farm for those god rolls!
• Your Tower Obelisk will generate Polarized Fractaline for you each week equivalent to its Resonance Power. Increase its Resonance Power by upgrading other Obelisks. It costs 200 Polarized Fractaline perk Obelisk level up.
• Everyone in the community will also receive a shader when all stages have been completed, although this shader has yet to be revealed.
• Players who donate more than 5,000 Polarized Fractaline before the end of the Season will earn a Triumph and Emblem.
