Interview
Tell us about yourself, who are you and what do you do?
Hi, I'm Knitehawk!
I am a full time partnered content creator on Twitch, primarily focusing on Destiny 2 PvP content! I play quite a range of FPS games such as Apex Legends (Ex Pro Player), Call of Duty, and Halo!
How and why did you get into content creation?
I have been gaming for as long as I can remember!
One day, I created a YouTube video about something I had figured out in Borderlands 2 that I had a ton a trouble figuring out and thought to myself, "I wonder if anyone else had as much trouble as I did." I uploaded the video and saw that there were a ton of people that had the same problem that I did! From that point, forward I took an interest in content creation!
Tell us about your community
I have built my community among the term "escapism." I create an environment that allows my audience to escape and just game with some great people! I do understand that sometimes my audience needs a place to vent and have someone there for them. We are a family and when you enter my community, that's exactly what you will feel like. Family means the world to me and I will always do my best to make sure I have your back!
What do you enjoy most about Destiny?
PvP has and always will be my go-to in Destiny. I am a competitive player at heart and always look for ways to improve myself; Destiny PvP offers this quite a bit due to the ever-changing Meta!
What is your favorite PvP map in Destiny 2?
My favorite map has to be Dead Cliffs! The size of the map feels perfect for the fireteam size and plays at a quick pace!
What advice would you give someone looking to get into content creation?
Have zero expectations! If you start streaming, you should start it to have fun and make friends. While you are streaming, always remember that you are there to present yourself. Show off to your viewers, whether you have 1 or 1,000, why they should be watching you.
Above all else, do your best to take care of yourself. Mental is a massive part of streaming and the better mental you have going at it, the better time you will have with streaming as a whole!
If there was one thing you could tell your former, aspiring-creator self, what would it be?
Stop worrying about numbers. Create content that you are passionate about and don't feel the need to follow normal trends. DO NOT STOP!
In your opinion, what does it take to make a team successful?
Teammates that are willing to help each other out and listen to one another, I believe, is the true factor to making a team successful!
Going forward, what do you want to accomplish with your team?
I want to build up every member of my team and show the community how amazing they are. I want my team to have a community where we can build things for good causes!
